What is Counselling?
Counselling is “talk” therapy. It typically consists of face-to-face meetings between the therapist and an individual or couple. Sessions are normally 50 minutes each and are usually scheduled once per week.
The first few sessions will be an assessment period where the focus will be on looking at the presenting issue(s) and situation(s) in the context of the individual’s relationship to themselves and with others.
Treatment will include explorations of ways to deal with the issues identified. This is done by healing them, looking at new coping skills and/or to provide a renewed focus for pursuing your life goals.
